Spring Showers

Enjoying the rain, with the occasional sun break in the good ol' PNW. It's really a frustrating time of the year for gardeners. I am going to admit the gardening bug has bitten hard. It started a couple weeks ago, and I am now trying to find space for my new plant babies. Not to mention a break in the rain long enough to get my shovel in the dirt.

Second confession, I'm not the best plant parent. I have been known to let cacti shrivel and die under my care. But, I love them. My newest members of the "I hope I survive the year before the florist kills me" group are some gorgeous hellebores, an evergreen clematis, a larger flowering white clematis, two David Austin roses, a flat of dusty miller, herbs, bleeding hearts, and a whole bunch of Baptista!

Hellebores

I am very happy that I am seeing peony foliage! I successfully planted about 5 peonies last year! I have 4 more to add in different varieties for this year. So excited for those! I've had to battle for their survival. We have a serious squirrel problem in my area. The little jerks dig up the whole plant and leave them to die.

So these are my gardening woes lately. Ovbiously, this was a good project to work on for a rainy day! Can't dig in the dirt, so blog post it is.

What are you planting this spring?

Have a great rest of the week!

Florally yours,

Gina
