2014 ISES trends meeting
2014 ISES Seattle Trends Meeting www.isesseattle.com
So, a couple weeks ago I got to do something a bit out of my comfort zone. I was asked to be a sponsor for the March ISES Meeting at the Seastar restaurant and raw bar. Amazing food! The meeting was geared towards trends in the wedding and event industry. My part in the event would be 10 gorgeous centerpieces!...and speaking on wedding flower trends. Public speaking doesn't make me horribly nervous until right before it's my turn to speak. I also have a hard time remembering the microphone needs to stay in front of my mouth. I think I did alright for not having a speech made up. I definitely felt more comfortable once I was getting people involved and moving around. Anyways, I chose to make every centerpiece a bridal bouquet. That way I could have examples and props for showing what I've found to be trending. I had a lot of fun making these bouquets. They also found rides home with fellow ISES members at the end of the dinner.
The trends I included in making bouquets for were:
Pacific Northwest
Romance
Glamping (camping with champagne taste) Check out my pinterest board for more glamp!
Vintage/romance
Texture
Gatsby inspired
The next 4 are a preview of a Gatsby styled shoot done earlier this year, I can't share the actual shoot pics yet...but coming soon!
Color block (bold colors with 1-2 main focal colors)
And then the accent flower bouquets (pick your favorite accent flower and make them the star)
I also did a toss bouquet to get the crowd involved. It was something I picked up from Washington Floral Service's

Design Show
Sunday March 9th
I have another blog in mind for this show, I go every year. It's so much fun! Anyways...back to the toss bouquet. I saw this toss bouquet and though wow, that looks a mess! Lol. That's probably what the guests at the table featuring the one I made thought in their heads too. But it is such a fun bouquet. It basically is a breakaway hand-tied bouquet with separately tied tiny bouquets gathered together. Then the bride just secretly unties the main bouquet wrap and when she tosses it scatters tiny bouquets to all her single ladies! It is a riot to watch! youtu.be/YvvlcrLtNok
Hope you enjoyed the fun flowers for today! Thanks for reading.
